Team England Kitting Out experience at Kukri Sports
Thursday 18th January sees the launch of the 2018 Kitting Out experience for Team England athletes ahead of the XXI Commonwealth Games.
Across 23 days, the experience will see over 700 elite athletes such as David Luckman a four-time British Open winner and claimed gold at the Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championships; Zoe Smith the four-time British Weightlifting record holder and Dina Asher-Smith a sprinter who holds the British records for both the 100 metres and 200 metres making their own unique journey through Kukri Sports Head Office in Lancashire to collect their bespoke sportswear before heading to Australia to compete at the 2018 Gold Coast Games.
After working with Team England on a hugely successful Kitting Out for the Bahamas 2017, they requested the same level of service for Kitting Out 2018 Gold Coast. With our unrivalled service and Team England’s expertise, we have created an unmissable journey, which begins as soon as the athletes enter Kukri. The experience starts with an introduction to their own personal host who will guide them through to the sizing area to experience the fitting of their bespoke team wear. The athletes then travel through to their various activation areas for chilling, games, familiarisation and media rooms to final check out.
Team England Chef de Mission Sarah Winckless said:
“Collecting your team kit is a special moment for any athlete, it also marks a significant milestone for us at Team England. It has been fantastic to work with Kukri to design, manufacture and now kit out our team ready for the Gold Coast. The kit looks spectacular, I know everyone will be wearing it with a huge amount of pride competing for team and country in April.”
Andy Ronnie CEO of Kukri Sports said:
“This is our second journey towards a Commonwealth Games with the Team England athletes and we are looking forward to welcoming them to Kukri over the next few weeks to receive their bespoke kit. Since 2012, our partnership has been driven by the same goals: performance, diversity, respect and passion for sport and this partnership with Team England continues to reinforce our position as a market leader in multi-sport bespoke team wear. We are excited and honoured to be welcoming XXI Commonwealth Games athletes to Kukri tomorrow and we are looking forward to following their successes during the Games.”
