Commonwealth Glory

November 29, 2016 I I

With the all important milestone of 500 days to go until the 2018 Gold Coast Games now behind us, the kit designers at Kukri have been working with Commonwealth Games England to produce the best possible sportswear for over 600 athletes and coaches competing across 18 different sports with the athletes always at the very heart of the design process.

“We are honoured to be supplying Team England’s kit for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Our team of designers are working side by side with CGE, creating bespoke designs for performance and leisure wear for over 600 athletes and coaches. The new designs will be innovative and unique to Team England and will allow these elite athletes to perform at their very best across 18 different sports.”

After the record breaking medal tally at the games in Glasgow in 2014 we look forward to providing quality bespoke sportswear to enable the athletes to perform at their very best in 2018.

The design and manufacturing process is well underway and we’ll be using over 46 kilometres of innovative fabric, 93000 metres of thread and producing over 15 tonnes of bespoke sportswear to enable Team England to compete at the top of their game both in the Bahamas at the Youth Games in 2017 and at the Gold Coast in 2018.

While Team England are concentrating on sending the best prepared team to these events, Kukri will be working hard to ensure they are the best kitted out with the manufacturing process taking over 46 000 man hours and each garment passing through over 50 sets of hands from design to completion.

With many exciting dates in the diary such as the QBR launch and the kit reveal in early 2018 it’s an exciting time for both Team England and Kukri Sports and we look forward to helping propel the athletes in Team England to Commonwealth glory on an international sporting stage.
